Simulated BaBar Event

This is a simulated event from the BaBar Experiment in which an Upsilon(4S) decays to a B-meson and its antiparticle. The first picture shows the full detector end-on, while the second shows a blow-up of the central tracking detectors.

The display shows the two B-mesons' decay products as curved tracks (in red) in the central region of the detector. Some particles also deposit energy in the calorimeters (green and blue blocks). Particle identification is assisted by measuring the Cherenkov rings, which are also shown.

You can also see real events as they are recorded by the detector.

The event pictures were produced using the HepRApp Event Display.
