NEAR Detector Reconstruction

Goal:   Event Reconstruction in the MINOS NEAR Detector is a challenging goal because of the high rates and event pile-up. In this page I summarize the effort for the development of a Near Detector Reconstruction package integrated into the MINOS Object Oriented Offline Analysis Framework. The main goal of the reconstruction package is to slice the detector activity in separate events, perform a very fast pattern recognition (assign hit strips to "track-like" and "shower-like" formations) using Artificial Neural network Techniques, and then use similar Neural Net Techniques for Neutrino Event Classification.
