Phone Meeting, 4pm GMT

Agenda:

From: "Rob Edgecock" <edgecockstrudel characterMAIL.CERN.CH>
To: <FFAG-E-MODELstrudel characterLISTSERV.CCLRC.AC.UK>
Subject: Meeting on Tuesday 20th
Date: 2005 December 14; Wednesday 08:48

Hi folks,

The last meeting of the year will be next Tuesday, 20th December, at 4pm GMT.  This will be to review what happened during FFAG05 and anything that has happened since then.  The proposed agenda is below; comments are welcome.

As usual, please call 00 41 22 767 7000 and ask for the FFAG meeting of Rob Edgecock.  Hope to speak to you next week.  If not, Merry Christmas and all that!

Thanks........Rob

Proposed agenda

  1. Summary of FFAG05 (except EMMA and proton machine) — Scott
  2. EMMA:
    • tracking results/comparison — Francois, Shinji
    • transverse acceptance problem/solution?
  3. Proton machine
    • lattices — Shane, Dejan, Grahame, etc.
    • name
  4. AOB

Minutes:

From: "Shinji Machida" <s.machidastrudel characterRL.AC.UK>
To: <FFAG-E-MODELstrudel characterLISTSERV.CCLRC.AC.UK>
Subject: lattice with smaller dnu/dE
Date: 2005 December 15; Thursday 16:11

Dear All,

The results with a smaller dnu/dE lattice are uploaded.  ToF with finite transverse amplitude is reduced, but transverse acceptance does not change.

Subject: lattice with smaller dnu/dE, revised
Date: 2005 December 15; Thursday 17:21

The results I sent this afternoon use the same RF voltage per cavity.  Longitudinal trajectories with the same "a" parameter (40% more RF voltage) is calculated.  You can find the revised memo on http://hadron.kek.jp/~machida/doc/nufact/ffag/machida_20051215b.pdf & ppt[Open External Link in New Window]

Best regards,

Shinji

Subject: lattice with smaller dnu/dE, revised 2
Date: 2005 December 20; Tuesday 12:06

I put another result in the note (now revised #2).  We can compare the transverse acceptance in four cases.
http://hadron.kek.jp/~machida/doc/nufact/ffag/machida_20051220.pdf & ppt[Open External Link in New Window]

  1. original lattice with nominal voltage (a=1/12).
  2. new smaller dnu/dE lattice with nominal voltage (a<1/12).
  3. original lattice with higher voltage (a>1/12).
  4. new smaller dnu/dE lattice with higher voltage (a=1/12).

Acceptance is mainly determined by voltage.

Best regards,

Shinji

Subject: Contribution to phone conference on 20 Dec 2005
Date: 2005 December 16; Friday 04:33

Hello,

At http://keil.home.cern.ch/keil/MuMu/Doc/ElectronModel/20Dec05/talk.pdf is the beginning of a contribution to the phone conference on 20 Dec 2005.
The text will still change, the address will not.

Dear e-model dreamers,

Here is the best, ever, Xmas movie, for you : real 6D in EMMA...

  1. Save the 3 attached files,
  2. gunzip gnu.data.gz,
  3. and, from within gnuplot, "load "gnu_plot_init.cmd""

Best wishes (for Xmas)
F
