Summary of Phone Meeting #1 on 15th December 2004
There are several possible sources of funding for the e-model, with a variety of proposal submission deadlines. The most urgent, in that it requires a believable cost estimate, is the EC FP6 programme with a closing date of 13th April 2005. What we need to do with some urgency is decide what we want to do, decide how to do it and make a first estimate of what it will cost.
The aim of this meeting was to start doing the first of these and also to assign responsibilities for getting the cost estimate done for the various components of the machine when we know what we're going to build. It should be noted that the person taking on the responsibility for one of these tasks is not expected to do all the work, but to ensure that it is done.
The first "component" was originally foreseen to be "FFAG design and specifications". This is different to the hardware tasks in that it is making sure the design is completed, rather than a cost estimate being done. During the discussion at the meeting, however, it was recognised that this needed to be split into a number of sub-tasks. This has been started below, but needs to be completed.

The responsibilities for the "hardware" tasks still need to be finalised. People who were not at the meeting, in particular, who are interested in taking on a task should feel free to say so, even if the responsibility seems to have already been assigned.
Action 1.2: Complete hardware responsibilities - all
The remaining discussion was primarily about how to get started with the proposal. This led to the following actions:
Action 1.3: Create a website to store relevant documents and information - Stephen Brooks
Action 1.4: Circulate summary of KEK meeting - Shane Koscielniak
Action 1.5: Circulate papers and cell parameters - Eberhard Keil
Action 1.6: Circulate motivation for model - Sandro Ruggiero
Action 1.7: Produce 5-page "EU" like proposal - Rob Edgecock
Action 1.8: Organise regular meetings - Rob Edgecock
Action 1.9: Create email list - Rob Edgecock
